Lahti Symphony and Vänskä giving concerts in Berlin and Vienna on 26.2.-2.3.2007

The Lahti Symphony Orchestra is together with its Chief Conductor Osmo Vänskä giving concerts at Philharmonie Berlin on 26 February and at Vienna Musikverein on 28 February – 2 March 2007. The concert at Philharmonie Berlin is the first one there for the orchestra. At Vienna Musikverein the orchestra had its successful debut concert in November 2005.

The concert programmes are as follows:

- Robert Schumann: Piano Concerto, soloist Hélène Grimaud
- Joonas Kokkonen: Interludes from the opera ’The Last Temptations’
- Jean Sibelius: Symphony No. 7

Vienna Musikverein 28.2.2007
- Leevi Madetoja: Kullervo
- Jean Sibelius: Violin Concerto, soloist Pekka Kuusisto
- Kalevi Aho: Symphonic Dances 'Hommage á Uuno Klami' 

Vienna Musikverein 1.3.2007
- Jean Sibelius: Cassazione (1st version)
- Jean Sibelius: Symphony No. 4
- Einojuhani Rautavaara: Symphony No. 7 'Angel of Light'

Vienna Musikverein 2.3.2007
- Jean Sibelius: Tapiola
- Kalevi Aho: Piano Concerto No. 2, sol. Paavali Jumppanen
- Joonas Kokkonen: Interludes from the opera ’The Last Temptations’
- Jean Sibelius: Symphony No. 7
