It has been said that Mozart composed his Piano Concerto No. 9 for a French pianist 'Jeunehomme' when the pianist visited Salzburg, but the scholars haven't been able to identify who this mysterious person really was. The soloist, now on his first visit to Lahti, is the young-generation American pianist Jonathan Biss, famous the world over for, among other things, his discs. Also on the programme for the concert conducted by Stefan Solyom is the seldom-heard Sixth Symphony by a fellow countryman, Franz Berwald.
