Hämeenlinna – the Birthplace of Sibelius Jean Sibelius spent his childhood and school years in the town of Hämeenlinna. He was born in 1865 in a wooden house in the centre of the town; the house is now a museum. Sibelius-Themed City Walk in Lahti You will be surprised how many things in Lahti are related to Sibelius!
