Energy. That’s the word that first comes to mind at gigs by Frigg, one of Finland’s foremost folk ensembles. This septet – which has played together for almost twenty years – has had a colourful career, worked with bluegrass icons such as Mike Marshall and Darol Anger and Finnish favourites Johanna Försti and Timo Rautiainen, played alongside wind bands and bagpipes, and now also accompanied by symphony orchestra. When the massed sounds of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra meet the folk septet on top form, the only limits are the boundaries of the concert hall. Let’s get ready to receive new energy!
