THE RHENISH

The symphonies of Robert Schumann and principal guest conductor Anja Bihlmaier – an unbeatable combination. The German composer’s Third Symphony was written as a musical love letter to the River Rhine, which has united and separated the peoples and kingdoms of Europe for centuries. Vadym Kholodenko, one of the most acclaimed Ukrainian pianists of the last decade, will make his debut with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra with the concerto by Alexander Scriabin, in which Chopinesque poetry and Slavic melancholy combine in music of constant beauty.
